What does 100 calories look like?
Controlling the amount of calories you eat is only one part of healthy eating. The type of calory is very important, not all calories are the same. This article by Robert Lustig, an American obesity expert, gives a good explanation of the calories in different food and highlights the dangers of eating too much sugar. I hope it may be of some interest to all dieters.

That is an excellent article. Pretty much along the lines of Dr Briffa's take on starchy, sugary foods. I've found the only real way to cut down on sugar is not to eat processed foods. Try finding bacon or ham that hasn't got some sort of sugar based ingredient in it, organic ones are no better. A lot of breads have high quantities of sugar regardless of the colour of the loaf. Thanks for putting this out here, the more people who shout about the sugar additives in our food the better.
Never thought that "100 kcal" foods have a certain look lol but this makes a lot of (visual) sense. Thanks for the article.
