Let this be the positive start I need....

So Hi, I'm Lizzie; 22, just finished Uni, short and overweight, Due to many things: Falling in love and thinking I was happy, laziness (takeaways are quicker then making something myself), depression, my family being over weight so having no good influences around, life time of bad habits. I've tried every diet; the eat too much and the no eating at all ones, all meat to no meat, just shakes to just water. None have worked for various reasons, but I'm not embarressed to say that the main reason is because I've lacked enthuasism and motivation.

But I'm hoping to change all that. I want to be fit and healthy, to be able to wear bright colours, go on holiday and wear that bikini and happily sun bathe on the beach, feel hot and sexy on a night out with the girls and to not worry about chaffing, bulges or other peoples judging looks. (and get rid of those bloody suck in pants!)

I've been prescribed Orlistat (pills to stop your body absorbing 1/3 of the fat you eat), I've lost 7lb in my first month. Sounds good I know, but I was naughty a few days (probably close to 10 days) which hindered my weight loss. I can only continue to take the pills as long as I loose 5% of my weight every 12 weeks, but must see the doctor once a month to check in. The naughty days are due to:

- Eating out to often.

- My mum denying me something at meal times (such as carbs, a whole chicken breast etc) So still hungry after meals and going out to buy chocolate/ ice cream.

- Not being able to say No to snacks through out the day.

- Over sleeping thus feeling sluggish so not wanting to go to the gym.

I have been hitting the gym more often than I used to, but its not enough, I need to be motivated to go more often and regularly. I also need to learn the best way to exercise to help weightloss. I drive tooooo much, even short distances, I doubt very much that I do a couple hundred steps of the 10K steps recommended! But I am going to start working on that this week! Have to start somewhere!

By joining this forum I hope to read some motivating stories, help motivate others where I can, share my own trials, tribulations and successful weeks, find tips on healthy eating and great ways to exercise, recieve a little ecouragement when I'm having a bad food and activity day and find the motivation to keep loosing weight.

Sorry this was so Long. Thanks for reading. Any comments good or bad welcomed :)

Go for it!! It sounds like you have a goal, stick to it and keep working towards it. Sometimes it will be slow and sometimes you'll get distracted.

It's worth it!! I remember getting to my goal weight a few years ago - that's what I'm focusing on in order to get back to where I was.

hi Lizzie - what a positive post! :-) Have you tried any exercise classes as well as the gym? There' so many different things on offer and its a case of trying them out and finding something you enjoy so you'll want to go regularly. I started off doing low impact aerobics and body conditioning and gradually increased my fitness. My fave at the moment is Body Combat. Aquafit is great too!

Good luck!

Thanks guys :)

I've tried all sorts of classes, body pump is my fav as I always feel the burn afterwards! All the regulars have great bums so that's a good incentive! :)
