Was diagnosed with PCOS when I was around 16.

When I went to gp about help with fertility they did refer me, but the fertility consultant just wrote back (without seeing or speaking to me) and basicly said I'm to fat to have kids, so won't be offering any treatment. After that I caved and let the gp refer me to a dietitian (even though I know about healthy diet etc) however it took almost a year for a dietitian to get in touch, and I went through a 12 week programme which was basically 1 phone call every month, didn't help with anything just took credit for things I was already doing before I even started. Dietitian referred me to an exercise referral program but on the day I turned up fir my initial assessment the person had gone home sick and after weeks of trying to get hold of someone with no luck to rearrange I gave up. Also on my feedback phone call after the programme with the dietitian I explained everything and they agreed to put me through another 12 week programme with a different dietitian without having to go on the waiting list, however 18 months on and nothing.

I have tried every diet going and just can't seem to loose weight. I can't take metformin as it doesn't agree with. I'm 34 now so if I want to stand any chance of getting pregnant i need to start some type of treatment or something soon. Anyone else had anything similar? Any advice?

Contact the doctors tell them you was diagnosed at 16 and that you want to start a family, They see to you better when you say you have been trying for a baby but its not happening.

look online or Facebook for Drew Baird. He’s amazing at explaining what the PCOS condition is and how it impacts us. He also offers advice of supplements we should be taking to help manage our condition.

I feel for you, I have been to the doctors many times and trying to get them to do anything about it is so hard. The amount of times I’ve been told to either go on birth control or lose weight.
