I have been recently diagnosed with PCOS and I had to keep asking for someone to dig further into my health I finally had a doctor to listen. I have excessive facial hairs (like a man) I'm constantly shaving and plucking my face, very low sex drive (that's kind of messing up my relationship), I have 4 children and had 2 miscarriages, I bloat alot at times and it's hard to lose weight (especially belly fat & my double chin) in which my neck looks swollen like i have thyroid issues and I don't, oily face & acne, alot of mood swings, depression (sometimes unbearable), thin hair & hair loss on my head, achy body sore muscles sometimes and energy levels so low some time I dont get alot done i just mope around!! She has prescribed me Metformin and I see it's for type 2 diabetes which i don't have i read about it and am scared to take it anyone else taking Metformin?? Would there be anything more on the natural side to help my over health due to PCOS??

Hi there, I was given Metformin by my doctor when I was trying to get pregnant (17 years ago now!). I think it helps to sort out insulin resistance (which should help with losing weight). It regulated my periods so that I was able to get pregnant. Hope that helps a bit.

My polycystic ovaries was only diagnosed at 35 and then was not even formally recognised for the age of 42 my GP never even put it on my records.

Until 42.

I'm 43 desperate to start a family I've been told because of my age alone probably about a 9% chance but I'm taking some supplements to try and do things.

I don't want to give up on my dream of having a family but I've got lots of other things against me as well
