Hello I am new here,

Bit nervous but need your help!

Finding it hard to know where to go with my GP

I have been suffering with PCOS for over 5 years, but have noticed the last 18 months my hormones have gone through the roof! I am getting really angry, upset and down just before I am meant to be on my period?

Does anyone have any tips for PMT with PCOS?

Also get all the symptoms of getting a period but no flow any advise? I have a cycle so to speak but then no flow?

Does anyone find they get really angry and hormonal with PCOS?

PMT I would imagine is the same with or without PCOS, your happy hormones drop, making way for the period hormones, so getting angry and down is a biproduct. I've had it all my life, I'm not sure how old you are, but if your younger, maybe the hormones are a bit stronger than before now and you are just noticing it? Whether you doctor can give you Something to balance this out, I don't know. But with every tablet you take there is likely to be some other not nice side effect. I've lived with it all my life and just know when it's maybe not a great day to be at work 🙃 it is just one of those things in life, maybe see if exercise helps? But if it is only a day or two, it's not great, I know it's not a great thing, but I do think it is fairly natural. It may have also been heightened with lockdown?

I used to have a little bit of brown blood, then nothing. I went on the pill as I got pregnant at 18...so you can get pregnant with PCOS. I then had the bled. I never had a natural period until my 30s. The pill is supposed to help but it does come with its own issues. I wasn't diagnosed until 25 that I had PCOS, I wasn't overweight or that hairy, so was just dismissed by several doctors that I didn't have it, but when I had a scan, I had many cysts over my ovaries.

I guess I was never that worried as I was young and just getting on with life. But if its bothering you speak to your GP to see what they can do.
