Really worried

I've been bleeding almost everyday for the past 5 months. I had a scan around 4 months ago and everything was normal apart from my ovaries which my doctor said was PCOS. I then went again a month ago about the constant bleeding and I was just told to lose weight, which I am doing at the moment. I'm just worried because it seems everyone else with PCOS has the opposite of what I have in terms of periods. I've always had problems since I hit puberty but it's only recently since I turned 20 it's gotten to this extent. I usually get cramps and clots along with it and it can fluctuate between being really really light spotting to medium heaviness. Does anyone else have these problems? What do I do?

No we vary massively, lots of ladies have huge gaps between them. Did they offer you anything to stop the bleeding as they should do as it is very draining being on a constant period, the other option is to go on the combined pill as this will reduce all the pcos symptoms. I take 2-3 months on the trot as it reduces my symptoms further too, as long as you have 4 periods a year then it is ok to do it.

I’m due to visit my GP tomorrow. Used to have only 6-8 periods a year but for the last 3 months I’ve bled almost every day. Had a similar issue last year but not for as long and I was pretty much told to go away and stop making a fuss. Problem is I’ve been trying to get pregnant and I’m worried that it’s not going to happen now.
