my 22 year old niece has just been diagnosed with PCOS and is devastated by all the many symptoms Her GP has said there is no "cure" so there is "no point" referring her to an endocrinologist. I am appalled. I was referred to one when I was diagnnosed years ago and was offered a range of options to deal with symptoms Can she insist on a referral? She is in Southampton.

Yes she can. Look at the NICE guidelines on pcos - yes there is no cure BUT there are long term health consequences of pcos so should not just be dismissed as a 'fertility' issue.
I'm currently researching for my 20year old daughter. Like your niece finding it impossible to find help . We are trying to see a nutritionist to help with a low GI diet. She feels like she is going in circles and not advancing to help herself get better
