Faint positive test

Hi all,

It’s been a while since last posted on here.

Basically after 5 months of metformin, I missed my first period and now have a very faint pregnancy test when using FMU, but negative during the rest of the day.

Just wondering if this is a reliable test, I don’t want to get my hopes but this is as far as we’ve got in the last 4.5 years.

Any advise accepted, we are going to see the Gp later this week if possible x

Sounds promising! False positives are possible but unlikely. Wait a few days and retest. Or ask the gp for a blood test as it is more sensitive to hcg hormone.

Hi I had about 4 days of faint positives before I got a clear positive give it a few days then take another. It is a good sign xx

Hi ladies,

I’ve booked an appointment with the GP for Thursday, so fingerscrossed 🤞.

Is there anything I should be careful of with having PCOS, that I should ask about?

Thank you x

No not really - miscarriage is not higher in ladies with pcos either in case you have read that (they thought it was but further research shows it isnt).

Good luck, let us know how it goes. I would test with your first wee tomorrow morning as well

Hi everyone,

Sorry i'm only just getting chance to reply now. I re-tested on Thursday before my GP appointment and it was a much clearer positive test. Basically i've been a whirlwind of mood swings since finding out, ecstatic all the way to feeling low and isolated (obviously not telling family and friends until safe).

I don't think it has helped that we was under the impression that we were 7+ weeks going off all dates including the extended cycle discussed with the GP, and we decided to go for a reassurance scan as we were told our local hospital is delayed for the dating scans. So basically after travelling over an hour, with a very full bladder, for it to be delayed and ending up having to refill my bladder post-night shift, to be told that there is nothing there.

So the emotional torture continues, i still have positive tests, however nothing to be seen, which is the exact opposite of reassuring. To top it off my other half doesn't understand why there is nothing there given the dates and now he's being less than supportive or at least it feels that way, we was told it might be because they don't do TV scans or that we are only 1-2 weeks pregnant.

I literally don't know what to do with myself, i'm so angry and upset, i just don't know what to do, i know i probably sound silly and impatient.

Sorry for the rant

Hi again all,

Quick update, today me and my partner have been back for a repeat scan and are pleased to say I am now harbouring an amazing little heart-flickeringhypermesisinducing bambino at approximately 8+3 weeks gestation which is very confusing with our dates but hey we will take it, puking and all 😍x

Thank you to everyone who has helped with advise and support even during my melt downs 😳

Will keep updating all being well x

Phew :-) Now it is quite common to have period cramps and some bleeding so DONT presume the worse - I had bright red bleeding at 10 weeks and Noah is now 11 so it doesnt necessarily mean anything awful. The bean is already bedding down this early so you will get lots and lots of twinges. Great news congrats.

I ate digestives regularly before I got hungry as they really helped morning sickness (rich tea are good too but I found them too dry).
