Newly diagnosed.

Hi all! I was diagnosed with PCOS yesterday, after having an internal ultrasound at a private gynaecologist appointment. I have had an internal ultrasound in October on the NHS, yet no one told me about the PCOS.

I'm very emotional about this, as at the same time I was told that from my symptoms I have adenomyosis. I am so glad to finally have answers. The specialist I saw is one of the best in the UK, I am very blessed to have been able to see him.

In June 2014, I was diagnosed with superficial endometriosis. And I also have other chronic illnesses. I'm 20 years old, and have been married for just over 2 years.

Sending you all big hugs xxx

Hi dear,

Don't be so upset, the first step to solving a problem is identifying the problem which you have done.

I have had PCOS for atleast 15 years and understand the worry that comes with having it.

I don't know much about Adenomyosis, but do know that with PCOS there is still hope of conceiving naturally when you are ready -- plus you are still very young. Do some online research to find out some of the things you can do to alleviate the effects -- I heard going gluten free works (not tries it yet).

I hope my responds helps (I am currently pregnant with my second and conceived naturally, minor change of lifestyle required).

Merry Christmas and God bless x

Hello.

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 20 (18 months ago now). Like you I was very emotional about it. My advice would be to discuss your concerns with your doctor, I waited about a year before going back with questions and I wish I had done this sooner! There are things that can be done to help control your symptoms and although it is not curable there are lifestyle changes you can make as well.

There's loads on information online so have a read, sorry I can't be more specific but everyone with PCOS is so different! Good luck :)
