How quickly does Chronic kidney disease progress if you have WG?

Probably someone with more knowledge on this than me will write you an answer soon but I believe the answer is that it varies. In other words, without treatment for your WG it can progress rapidly and kidney function decline to very low levels within weeks. However, with treatment this decline can be halted and some improvement obtained.

I have CKF stage 3 which declined to Stage 4 over a period of 3 weeks and was showing no sign of improving, it fact it was continuing to worsen. Rapid treatment (the usual high dose steroids and cyclophosphamide) saved me from dialysis or renal failure and I am now feeling well at Stage 3 again.

What is the situation with you right now?

Hi.

I've been in Stage 4 until recently when I progressed to stage 5. Attending the Low Clearance clinic and Transplant unit with my sister starting to be tested for live donation. When suddenly in the last 6 months my function had dramatically improved and today I had the best results I have had with my Creatatine going down to 186. It hasn't been this for many many years. So all I can say is stay positive and things can and do improve. I have had WG for over 14 years.
