The telephone has been a little bit hot today regarding benefits, assessments and appeals..
Please Please make sure if you send any paper work off to ATOS or whatever company is working for the government at the moment, that you photo copy everything!! Also bare in mind that if you are assessed by a nurse or doctor it does necessarily mean they know anything about Vasculitis... be prepared to question... in the most polite way.... if anyone needs or wants any support applying for or appealing against their benefit claim. Please contact us at VUK.
The way the government stop people's benefits without warning is awful... then to add insult to injury the paper work for an appeal is lost...blamed on the Royal Mail but after the third phone call to say this happened in as many weeks, we begin to think who is being Incompetent....

Just spent all day writing ,printing etc ESA paperwork for assessment,Sending lots of evidence.included one of your leaflets stating that I used it to understand my condition .
Also someone on the site said about sending it by special delivery ,cost more but easier to track and quicker than recorded delivery .Fingers crossed.

ps, dont forget to make a copy of the form you filled in too
Hi, yes I have just had to do this and it took me 12hrs One of my major problems have=ing Cerebral Vasculitis is form filling and paperwork!! I got all my medical letters over the last year from my GP, who also wrote a letter for me? I posted with the guaranteed delivery, cost me £6 but they cant say they havn't got it now? I also copied everything, letters and form!
Good luck to all who have to do this awful and very difficult form. The wait now is a just as much a nightmare as filling in the form!
Hi there. I just read your comment about the difficulty you had filling out forms and paperwork after CV. I am the same. Especially if they are are online but even on paper. My job consists of a lot of paperwork too so I think this creates a lot of anxiety. I would like to hear other symptoms you had after Cv if you would be willing to share. Thanks
