Iga vasculitic leg ulcers.

Hello I am Tor-Happy,

I have had an ongoing issue for 18 years with Iga, Leucocytoclastic

or HSP.

For many years I have had ulcers on my lower legs and ankles. They are very painful weeping ulcers, with random shooting pains.

I have had various treatments by LLTS but they still keep coming. Nobody seems to know anything and I am treated for normal leg ulcers. I feel that I need to see a specialist, but I don't know which one.

I can feel the ulcer erupting and the pain beneath my skin. It is many weeks before any sign appears. When the ulcer has formed a lot of slough appears and has to be painfully removed each week.

It is effecting the quality of my life. I have lost my independence. I can no longer drive, because using the pedals causes the healing to break down.

Where do I go from here. Please help, I am desperate for some advice.

It sounds as if you have not specific diagnosis. Is that correct?

You say "I have had various treatments by LLTS" - what is this?

Are you see a specialist for your auto-immune condition? If not then perhaps this is where you should be aiming, to get a more precise diagnosis and advice on treatment.

Are you effectively classed as in remission from your IgA (HSP) as it sounds like it is still active and causing the blood vessels to swell and burst. I’m not familiar with LTTS so may have that wrong, but when I had my flare of HSP that caused ulcers, they healed when I was in remission. Like the other reply, try and get another diagnosis and/or opinion, perhaps a rheumy and a dermatologist? Good luck!!!
