Hi all I decided to have a go and raise some money. There is a connection for me because Vasculitis among the physical issues I have had has brought with it some Mental Health issues too. I have to admit I get a bit anxious at times which I try and beat out of myself with exercise and it works to an extent but there are people a lot worse than me and I just wanted to help. Apart from growing a dodgy tash I thought about doing a physical challenge so decided to walk 100k in the month of November knowing my Rituximab treatment was coming (had it yesterday) I banked the kms and as of today I have completed 72km so far in the month of November and although I feel crappy after the treatment I am going to do another 8km today as the weather is decent. When I get to 100km which I will, I will keep going to try and exceed my target to give as much as I can. I wanted to raise £50 but have managed £147 so far. The reason I have posted this message on here is all about hope because this time of year brings with it doubt and foreboding, for those of us with mental health issues related to our illness. SAD lamps and positivity go so far but we all live in hope and this challenge has given me that, a focus that I have a real purpose and know in my heart of hearts I will get better. You can see my progress on the Movember website and type in Nick Ledger yes I am the bloke with the flat cap and the dodgy tash. Best wishes to you all.
