Hi everybody, hope all is well with you all. As we start to enter the NHS Spring Covid booster campaign it has been announced that Adults over the age of 75 and those that are CEV will be offered the vaccine between April and June if 3-6 months have elapsed since your last jab. Fine! But what about those living with CEV people who are under 75? My wife is 53, she still works 3 days a week. Will she be entitled to it? Haven't seen anything so I am assuming not. Answers on a postcard please. Nick.

Spring Booster - Eligibility
hi Nick as I understand partners not in the age group despite living with someone who is CEV will not be eligible, more madness
No I'm afraid that group wouldn't qualify. The only people eligible are 75+, those in care homes, or those who are immunosuppressed. This is for the Spring Booster. The wider group would be expected to get the Autumn 2023 booster.
Thanks for that info. A bit daft really considering we are currently seen as a bit of a burden. My wife went for a booster in January after booking and appointment on line but was turned away because they said she had one in August. There probably is some process that they are following but the interpretation seems to be a bit vague in some areas. Nick.
Hi Nick, I’m just catching up on posts, I hadn’t heard anything about boosters so I’m glad we’ve got one on the way at least. Agree completely , madness that those that live with us aren’t included this time.
I’m due to have rituximab in April, can anyone remind me what the recommended timescales are around the vaccine before or after rituximab?
Thanks Jenny
hi just catching up The National Institute for Health and Care Research new research to understand immune responses against COVID 19 vaccination encourage immuno comprised people to accept all vaccines offered to them and further recommend “including the families of people with weakened immune systems”. Medicine is based on current up to date research when delivering care to patients and not just to cherry pick the bits they want and ignore researchers recommendations.
Well it’s alright saying “including families of those with weakened immune systems” which was my point. They are not allowing it at the moment and they should be.
That’s if you can see a GP, ours won’t even discuss Covid vaccinations
