You could go to the unit and they could check your chest before hand , if you have an infection they won’t be able to go ahead with the infusion. I hope you feel better in the morning.

If it’s a cold or any kind of viral or bacterial infection then no, they’ll definitely not go ahead with the infusion. They’ll likely want to wait until you’ve been symptom free for at least a week. My consultant usually calls me the day before the infusion and then I get asked on the day if I’ve had any signs of any kind of infection.

you most probably have done this already but have you done a Covid test?

Hope it goes ahead for you tomorrow .

Hi Cookyboy1, I have had a total of 5 infusions of Rituximab and prior to the first I was given the info about “if you get a cold or a sore throat” etc however since then they haven't bothered and since then if I am brutally honest neither have I. Please don’t think I am being flippant about this because as you all know that’s not my style but on 2 occasions (1 a sore throat and the other sniffling) I had the foundation for a cold, I went ahead without any issues, the colds did develop but no more than usual. I thought during the pandemic it was more important to get my treatment. I think leave it in their hands and see what they say, let them make the decision for you, it’s what they get paid for. Nick.

Hi Cookyboy.I had a cold and couldn't have the Rituximab, as the infusion doesn't work as good, it's not as affective, so they wanted me to be in the best of health for it to work, I only had to wait 2 weeks so not a disaster, they will advise what is best for you, good luck with it all 🤞

Hi , only the medics can advise . Call them before you go seek their advice / opinion .

of course I don’t know how far you are from the hospital but I would ring them first. They may prefer not to have you there if you are infectious.

I would think the clinic would delay your infusion. This is a good question for your doctor.

Hope you get to feeling better.
