That's wonderful news about John's MBE award but also tinged with sadness. I hope you both enjoy the day. I do wonder whether ten years on immunosuppressants contributed to my prostate cancer diagnosis
John believes his prostate cancer came on fast ( stage 4 on diagnosis ) and so aggressively because he was immune suppressed with cyclophosphamide for 5 years. One day there will be more research but this research at Nottingham is a start.
“ Incidence of cardiovascular events and common cancers in ANCA-associated vasculitis and Takayasu’s arteritis in the English populationUniversity of Nottingham – Dr Megan Rutter (Co-applicants; Dr Fiona Pearce, Dr Peter Lanyon & Prof. Richard Hubbard)”
I hope very much that John and Susan enjoy this amazing day. I’m so sorry to hear how unwell John is. This is incredibly sad. I’m very pleased he has received an award for all of his amazing work in supporting and leading the Vasculitis community. Pioneering work indeed. X

we’ll done on your MBE it is thoroughly well deserved. So sorry about your sudden diagnosis, as if Vasculitus isn’t enough. My personal thanks for your recommendation to a Vasculitus specialist in Oxford. After 3 years I finally feel I am with somebody I trust. Well done for all your enormous efforts to help and guide us all. Thank you to Susan also for all your support. God bless you both.
