Hi I’m sure others will comment with more experience than me but the rash does not look like my OH had for GPA vasculitis. Does it itch ? Do you feel unwell ? What are your blood works at the moment like and kidney function. Is the rash anywhere else. Is the rash like you had before ?
I would run past your GP or consultant to be on the safe side on Monday.
Hope it resolves soon .
Hi it looks like an urticarial rash similar to the one I get when my eosinophils are high. Before I was diagnosed with EGPA this was my biggest issue and the reason I went to the specialist. It used to appear overnight and in the morning, predominanbtly stomach, top of legs. Then gradually during the day it would disappear to come back another time untiul it was appearing every morning. Then it extended to my neck and face until I had to give up work. Added to that was sinus polyps, asthma and rhinitis which they treated with steroids. 19 years later I'm being treated with azathioprine and just started mepoluzimab injections.
Hi Johnny..I get stuff like that all the time..and can be anywhere but usually for me on arms, legs and chest..the ones on my hands have been there for month's. Difficult to say whether its condition but in my case most likely pred
Hi JohnnyI had a rash similar a couple of years ago which spread to under my arms and back, gp diagnosed shingles- if you have changed meds recently this can also do this but best getting checked out
Yes I’d be concerned that could be shingles too. Is it itchy? Is it on one side or both? If one side of the body and if it follows a nerve route it’s likely to be shingles. Shingles if you are immunosuppressed needs anti viral drugs fast. Either call out of hours GP for an assessment or get an urgent medical appointment tomorrow. Please don’t delay. If it is shingles anti virals are vital to reduce the severity and reduce the chance of life long nerve damage.
I have a condition called Hypocomplementaemic Urticarial Vasculitis (HUV). Your rash looks very much like the sort of urticarial rash I used to get before I was put on the right medication. Sometimes it can be over a large section and sometimes just a small patch. Very variable. In my case either very hot weather or damp cold weather used to trigger the condition. Hydroxychloroquine has been very effective for me. I also had shingles in the past but shingles in my case had clusters of tiny protruding rashes so I don't think your rash is but best to have it checked asap (!) as the nerve damage from shingles is truly long lasting. Hope you get it sorted quickly.
Yes it is very like my HUVS rash, my shingles rash much smaller and little blister spots
I'm NOT Too Sure John, I think it's Best to 'Play It Safe', my friend. Have a Chat with your Doctor/ Consultant.
