Have just had my first infusion 6days ago having been unable to tolerate Azathioprine or MMF. Am currently on Prednisolone 10mgs but am having abdo and back pain. Should I increase my prednisolone until the Ritixuban kicks in. I have PAN vasculitis.

Thanks x

Hi the RTX can take 12 weeks plus to begin to work, it’s a slow burner as someone else informed me. I would contact your consultant and discuss your ongoing medication and also your abdominal and back pain.

Are these new symptoms for you?

Good luck and stay safe

Thanks for answering. I’ve had abdo/back pain on and off but this is more constant and a bit colicky in nature. It’s taken me a long time to get down to 10mgs of Prednisolone so would rather not if it’s something that would go away when the Rituximab kicks in.
