Does nucala work for egpa

Is anyone with egpa taking nucala and is it working?

Hi Cathy

I tried Nucala (mepolozumab) at the beginning of my diagnosis a couple of years ago - definitely suppressed the eosinophils but my lung function dropped from 50% to 30% within 3 months so stopped.

I was then given relizumab and had an anaphylactic eposide.

I am now trying benralizumab and eosinophils were zero but now on the rise. Also my severe asthma and lung function hasn’t got any better. The EGPA rashes are a bit better and I am having less cardiac symptoms . I can’t say that I feel better but my team think it’s a good idea to carry on for now.

I was told the benralizumab is being considered for a specific trial and that nucala was removed from the trial in the uk due to funding...

Are you going to be having nucala?

Hi Cathy

I have been on azothioprine after initial 6 infusions of cyclophosphamide for EGPA and it has worked well for the last 2 years since being diagnosed.
