Hi looking for some advice for my husband who is in medical remission for GPA. He is now only on AZA 100 Mgs he was on 150 and has successful reduced and stopped his prednisone. He has no other conditions and his recent chest x ray and lung function tests were all normal . All blood tests are ok as well. He says he feels well but he blows his nose frequently and consequently has blood in his tissue- not a lot generally . He also coughs mainly at night unproductive cough . My concern is is this GPA just under the surface waiting to emerge or is this all “normal” what ever normal is .
Thank you in anticipation

I know that most doctors rely on the blood tests to monitor vasculitis, but symptoms are important too.
Does you husband rinse his nose? Rinsing and then hydrating with coconut oil or vaseline is helpful.
I don't know about the cough, maybe GP could investigate?
If the nose symptom was present at his diagnosis and now has reoccurred after getting of prednisolone and reducing azathioprine, I would monitor the symptom closely and keep a diary. If it gets worse or if it doesn't get better I would contact the doctor again.
Night time cough is typical of asthma - and being on pred would have kept that under control. Or any number of allergies which could cause a similar effect.
Thank you I had thought of this. He has recently had a lung function test and was normal . Would the result have been different do you know if he has asthma .
Honestly don't know. If the airways weren't in spasm at the time surely they would be fine? Like my atrial fibrillation doesn't show on an ECG unless I am having an episode ...
