Anyone had a cochlear implant?

I have vasculitis (Royal Free Hospital refuses to commit to which one, but says ‘maybe Wegner’s’). I am losing my hearing and powerful hearing aids are no longer helping much. I can hear sound but not make much sense of speech in many environments. The Ear Hospital has offered a cochlear implant and I would like to get in contact with someone with vasculitis who has had had this procedure.

Hi, I was diagnosed with Wegeners six years ago. I have lost 70/80% of my hearing and wear hearing aids in both ears. I can hear in a quiet environment but struggle in noisy ones. I enquired with my ENT Consultant about a cochlear implant but was told it wouldn't be suitable for someone with Wegeners. I would be very interested to hear how you get on or if anyone else has had one.
