I've had some new symptoms over the weekend & this morning I've noticed that my right foot & ankle has blue prominent veins. I've had a cool shower & elevated my leg for a little bit but it's still there.
Itching, aching, some swelling. I'm not concerned just wondered if anyone has had the same sort of thing...
Thanks for reading my post x

Hi Laura, I have been diagnosed PMRGCA for 2 years. (5 years undiagnosed) I do seem to see my veins more, ankles especially, but on legs and even on my brow. It does seem to coincide with aching, and in the case of my ankles they swell and go bluish. Another attractive add on to the condition it seems!
Hi Lesley, I am not sure what PMRGCA is so I will have to google it & learn more about it. To fully understand. I noticed my veins around my nose have burst seems like all the tiny veins I never knew I had seems to show up on my body more. I've recently turned 31 & I feel 71 ! π maybe when or if I turn 71 I might feel 31!
Yep - I get the blue vein thing as well - occasionally both legs from ankle to thigh look like stilton cheese - next day it's gone completely. I've also had ankle swelling for which I just bath my feet in cold water to make it feel better and reduce a little. Again - it goes as quick as it comes....
I can empathise with you, & I also take a cool shower sometimes helps bring the swelling down. I think with these new bluish veins it's quite a shock to look down & seem them so visible ! I thought what the hell what now !! " Stilton cheese example is spot on"
Hi Laura, I have those protruding from my left ankle too. I did have an ultrasound done on my left leg and I was told I have fluid in there, but no idea where it is coming from. So that was the end of that discussion. It always causes me mild pain, but consultAnt wasn't bothered by it.
Thanks Suzy, sorry I have not written sooner, I'm up & Down like a yoyo βΉοΈ
Mine comes & goes now, so I just rest when it happens. Seeing my specialist Wednesday so I will tell her & hopefully she can tell me what it is. If not I'll just learn to live with it. Xx Hope your ok x
Hi Laura, I replied to ur last post regarding being discharged from Louise Harper. I really feel for u throughout your journey, as u have had a really bad time. I hope the treatment for lupus really helps and you continue on your journey to get all the answers you need.
Take care and big hug Suzy. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are getting on. Xx
Iodine supplI men's for slow thyroid. Nicotine patches are slapped on smokers when in hospital. They don't ask, they just do it. My husband was subjected to patches after gallbladder surgery. He had the RA factor meaning rheumatoid factors were in his genes. He developed wegeners vasculitis that was not acknowledged until it was too late. He fought a hard battle with 'specialists' who didn't know anything, but kept him coming back for multiple visits and using up the precious time he had left collecting $50 each time. Prednisone was their answer to everything. He never complained as he endured the attacks and finally was too much for him..he lost his courageous battle. Don't let them put those patches on you..
