I also have Alpha One Antitrypsin disorder & was diagnosed with Wengeners Vasculitis in 2013. I've been fortunate to have had the benefit of very knowledgeable Consultants indeed our combined conditions are deemed fairly rare and as such have been the subject & interest of many Consultant meetings.

I've been & am currently treated with immuno-suppressive drugs Azathioprine & Prednisolone & whilst recognising that there is no cure I've been in remission for the majority of that time other than a few flares, generally as a result of contracting chest infections with contingent coughing, which have been treated with increased steroids & antibiotics.

I have good & bad days suffering mainly from joint pain, immobility & general lethargy of feeling unwell but remain positive. Regular blood testing is paramount to assist in determining what is going on inside as of course our problems are largely invisible.

Happy to help with anything specific
