Has anyone with WG ever suffered "bleeding on the lungs" (pulmonary embolism) with a flare up?

I had PE about 18mths ago in my lower lobe ,which had multiple clots,I can.t say it was with a flare I have smimering WG, now on fourth medication to try

and keep undercontrol .It started with a presistant cough ,then shortness of breath got alot worse within a few hours . I spent a week in hospital using oxygen and getting a warfarin levels sorted.

Things ok now ,just a little sore if I get a cough and was able to stop warfarin after about 9mths .Hope this helped .

I have had 2 episodes of haemoptysis the last one in Nov 2011 when I spent 9 days in Hospital. The CT scan & bronchoscopy revealed a segmental right lobe pneumonia and an area of bronchiectasis. (WG)

I was diagnosed with Vasculitis in 2007 when I presented with renal failure.About a month later I was back in hospital with a severe Haemotypsis which was halted after treament by way of 9 sessions of Plasmaphereseis.About another month later I developed Sepsis and was in ICU for a few days. Finally I developed a Pulmonary Embolism.Thankfully that was my last major incident and I have made a good recovery since.

Hi just t clarify as far as I am aware a PE is caused by a clot going to the lung whereas a haemotypsis is bleeding from the lung.I do not know whether there is a direct link between having a haemotypsis and going on to develop a PE.

yes, it was a pulmonary hemorrage not an embolism.
