They was like this when I had started with the vasculitis before being g diagnosed. Do you think could just be due to the infection I've got or could be vasc playing up.x
Hi all need your help ,have had a upper resp... - Vasculitis UK
Hi all need your help ,have had a upper respiratory infection for last week ,and my muscles in my legs and arms are just so weak .
I was wondering the same about me, I had a similar bug and my legs felt wobbly and unsafe.
Today, my hands and arms hurt and my elbows felt as if they were being tightly gripped.
One of the side effects of pred can be to make muscles weaker and even cause muscle wasting. If you then have an infection that even under normal circumstances would make you feel wobbly you will notice it even more. It will also tend to take longer to recover from an infection. Rest is even more important when you have a chronic illness and are on immunosuppressant drugs of any sort - you have to give your body a chance to recover. Any viral infection means you should not be doing energetic things until your have recovered (even for professional athletes) and when you already have an illness even more so.
Hi I recently had a chest infection, this also caused symptoms of vasculitis to return. Consultant says any infection can cause a flare. Hope you soon feel well again.
Thanks for your replays ,it is nice to know there are other people out there who can help by giving advice.x
any infection seems like a punch from mike Tyson.in time you get used to it.take things easy.delegate. and when you get a bit of energy don't use it up.dont try to work it off.it dosent help. be lazy.soon you will be back to normal wegeners exhaustion
Hi have been on to rheumatologist nurse and explained how I was ,she said for me to go in on the 25 June see doc to check us over ,could be due to reduction of steroids not keeping the illness under control .Will see what she says.
