My eyes feel like they lose focus and sometimes feel as if they cross.

dos anyone else experience this?

or it might be a new symptom of my fibromyalgia.

Yes I sometimes have this problem

Yes I was told it was a problem with the muscles in my eyes not working properly. I get double vision particularly when trying to read or do close up work I have glasses with prisms in to rectify problem. It has got better with treatment for disease, as has some of the loss of peripheral vision. It is now thought that all problems stemmed from inflammation within the eye even though they couldn't see it at the time.

I do too. I find it increasingly difficult to read but then I find my concentration is poor too so it might be chicken or egg situation.

Hi, some medications have side effects which effect the eyes could this be a possibility?

steroids are known to contract and relax the eye muscles. I am having the same problem. Double vision and lights having a halo effect.

Similarly, I get double vision at times (when too active!) & can't focus in the distance and have been told it is the muscles around the eyes not working properly. I do have regular eye checks & they seem OK.

Dear Sandra,

I agree completely, with what has been said above, but I take it you have had a full eye examination? It's just that, some years ago, I developed cataracts, as a result of the medication- which kept me alive, so I didn't give a s...,and thought that, from your symptoms, it might be worth you getting this possibility checked out. I'm sorry if you have already done this- I didn't mean to offend you; I just have (or had) a 'feeling' that it was worth mentioning!

In any event have a Happy Christmas, kind regards

thankyou everyone, and andrew no need to say sorry, all advice is welcome.

I had this the day I wrote it and a few months ago. I had an eye test on that occasion and the optician could find nothing wrong, but said he'd look it up & if I learned from anyone here or fibroaction to let him know.

I've had lens replacement surgery several years ago. I have saddle-nose and could no longer keep my glasses on, so the nhs did it.

I mentioned it to my gp and he said "I've no idea what it is. but, knowing your support group on hu, I'm sure you'll let me know."

Not what you're looking for?
