Hi,i'v dignosed lymphocytic vasculitis.what type and size of blood vasseles inflammed by lymphocytic vasculitis?
Hi,
I'm not really familiar with the term "Lymphocytic Vasculitis" but from what I can gather on the internet it's more of a histopathic definition (from examining tissue samples) along the lines of Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis. IE. it's a more general term for the disease, not a specific type (like Wegeners, PAN, MPA, etc).
It also appears that it refers to a cutaneous form of the disease and seems to be limited to the small blood vessels.
Vasculitis and Lupus are two distinct diseases. However there can be a lot of overlap and some people with Lupus can develop Vasculitis as a secondary condition.
Some of the drugs you are on are not typically prescribed for patients with primary Vasculitis. Hydroxychloroquine is commonly prescribed for Lupus and Sulfasalazine is prescribed for Inflammatory Bowel Disease or Arthritis. So, since you mention Lupus, I wonder if your Vasculitis is a secondary condition to Lupus ?
I would suggest you have a chat to your Rheumatologist about your condition and ask him for a more specific diagnosis to clarify things for you.
Hope this helps,
Richard.
