If diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980's you had a high chance of not surviving 5 years. Clinical trials in the last 20+ years mean that new medicines and treatments mean it is more likely you will survive and in some cases be free of disease. I'm alive and healthy today because I took part in a clinical trial. This wouldn't have happened without the new medicines developed in clinical trials. Doctors and drug companies have made this possible-neither could have accomplished this without the other.
