heartburn meds

Does anyone know which otc or prescribed meds for stomach issues, do or do not impact tinnitus. I had gastritis a few years back and took pantaprozole. Shortly after stopping pantaprozole I noticed tinnitus issues. I have had off and on tinnitus since. I recently took pesto bismol for heartburn and noticed a spike in my tinnitus. Are any heartburn meds ok to take and will not spike tinnitus?

I have been taking Lansoprazole for a year now and not noticed any difference to my tinnitus.

Yes, Omeprazole for me, no issues.

I take Gaviscon and I don't think it makes a difference to the tinnitus. The indigestion itself can exacerbate tinnitus. The study linked below was published in Nature and elsewhere in 2022. The beginning of my own tinnitus coincided with an attack of gastric problems so severe I had to see a doctor as an emergency. They gave me a PPI but warned me it couldn't be taken for long. PPIs are also associated with tinnitus! Damned if we do, damned if we don't.
