Hello, I may have asked this before , but is there anybody out there who has tried CBD oil for tinnitus ? . I’m on a very small amount but just for mainly pain and anxiety . I have noticed a spike in the tinnitus and just wondering if anyone has had any reaction to their tinnitus if they do take it.
Many thanks
Jenny

Great thanks .. I look forward to hearing from you. I took a bit too much the first night so have cut it right back .. I bought mine through a Dr so it doesn’t have any THS in it . Good luck with it!
I would be interested to hear the community's reaction to your question 1Dar -from the BTA's perspective, the research we've collated shows that it may worsen tinnitus for some users and hasn't proven to relieve tinnitus generally.
Hi Pat, I’ve started taking the CBD oil , not particularly to help my anxiety. I’m going through a very bad stage of anxiety at the moment and nothing I am taking is working to help bring down the tinnitus. I’m also in pain around my ear after many operations so this is the main reason why I’m going to try the CBD oil. I live in Australia and have gone through a Dr and have been given the correct oil. I am being monitored closely.
I’m a bit worried now it may make it worse .. I will give it a go and hope for the best. Regards,
Hi Lioned .. I’m mainly taking the CBD oil for anxiety and pain .. but a bit worried the oil may have spiked the tinnitus ... did you find it spiked for you? I’ve been on anti depressants but hoping the oil will replace these . How long did you try it for ? Thanks Jenny
Hi I tried it for about 6 weeks,I have anxiety and depression as well didn’t notice any change. As for my Tinnitus sadly it is so loud i wouldn’t know if i was having a spike or not.
I suspect the cbd needs the thc content but you’d have to find a dealer,i may try growing the plant 😎
Hi .. thanks for your message. I live in Australia and went through a Dr which put me through the correct channels. This has no THS in it and even though my tinnitus is high but anxiety has improved slightly . I google too much and one sight said it could increase tinnitus , but I should not trust Dr Google. Are you still taking the oil? Thanks
Hello Pat , my name is Jenny. I was interested in your message . As I mentioned I am taking the CBD oil which has been approved from the Government here and my GP . I am taking it for anxiety and pain in my ear, have been on it for nearly two weeks, but so far either hasn’t been reduced .. I’m a bit worried it may spike the tinnitus . Have you had many people saying it has enhanced their tinnitus . . I’m on a very small dose .
The research linked in the guide, from Frontiers In Neurology, suggests that in animal testing CBD oil may have aggravated tinnitus symptoms in animal test subjects (whether the result of that testing would be true of human subjects is uncertain - and that research dates from 2015, so more work needs to be done to check the hypothesis on a wider basis).
I've seen some research which posits a link between CBD oil use and a drop in anxiety symptoms, but that's by no means true across all test subjects in this area- it may work for you with aspect of your overall health and cause an unpredictable result in another.
Hi Pat ... I have just written to Shakira about the CBD drops. I have been on them for about 5 days and have noticed a definite spike in my tinnitus . Do you have any data that suggests these drops can spike tinnitus . I think it’s all fairly new .
The NHS state, "their quality and content is not known. They may be illegal and potentially dangerous".
nhs.uk/conditions/medical-c.... Here it is only prescribed for severe epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and for side effects of chemotherapy.
THC (psychoactive element of cannabis) levels in products are largely unknown, depending on where you source it, so are potentially harmful (but all product contain some degree of THC). On the other hand, the level of CBD (non-psychoactive element of cannabis) in widely-available and trustworthy products are not enough to be effective.
In conclusion, there is no evidence it works - unless for prescribed doses, for certain conditions and only by specialist medical professionals.
The products are highly marketed and at best the claims are highly-overstated.
You should never take anything without consulting your GP.
Hello ... I wasn’t quite sure about this message ... so do you have any evidence that CBD oil can make tinnitus worse. As I said I’m on a prescribed dose of tinnitus oil for anxiety and pain, but haven’t noticed any difference in either and the tinnitus has not lowered . Just wondering do you have tinnitus and have tried the oil.
You didn't mention, at least in your OP, it was prescribed. I missed subsequent comments. I've considered using CBD but having researched it, decided primarily against it.
Hi .. yes it was prescribed and took 5 weeks to arrive from a city in Australia. Have only been on the oil for 10 days , not sure if I should keep persisting ? I don’t take it at night .
I live in Australia .. I went through a dr who applied for the cbd drops through the government in Canberra which is the capital city of Australia. It was a very thorough application, took 5 weeks for it to be approved . Very strict application .
cmon, buddy, just because its permission to take from a doc, its the companies that make it, and pharmacies that distribute it, check brand and "manufacture" proccess
Hi Jenny,
Just reporting back. I've tried CBD Oil over the last week or so and it's, unfortunately, made no difference.
Thanks so much for getting back to me ....sorry to hear it hasn’t made much difference to your tinnitus . It didn’t make it any louder I hope that’s what I’m scared of. Did it make you feel more relaxed and did it make you sleep? Sorry about the questions but I’m very interested to see how it all goes ? Any other info would be greatly appreciated .
I’m still waiting for mine to come, it’s gone through a Dr which makes it a bit longer .
Thanks so much Cyrtis ... I’m glad it didn’t make your tinnitus go up and you got some relief with your finger. I know this is a very strange request but I don’t know anyone who is on it and would dearly love to speak to someone about it .. I wonder could I email your friend ... but that may sound too pushy?.. let me know what you think. I’m quite a normal person.
Hello.I will leave my report on the use of CBD, I used it for 06 months and I had no benefit with tinnitus, it is an expensive product but for tinnitus there is no evidence of improvement. It is used for anxiety but needs more research. In order for CBD to be used for pain, but, the inclusion of THC is necessary, and THC can make tinnitus worse.
Hi Andrea I use CBD drops without the THC … I find them okay but it’s probably mind over matter. I also anti depressants for anxiety. So I’m not sure if the drops work or not . Yes they are expensive .. but I will keep on using them . Anything to bring my anxiety down, to bring the tinnitus down!
I took CBD oil and it made my tinnitus worse but mostly it made my hypercusis awful! So if anyone has hulercusssis I was say don’t take it as it made that much worse straight away xxx
