Unbalance feeling and tinnitus spike 3months now

Does anyone here struggle with feeling unbalanced and a bit woozy with a tinnitus spike .I have a lot of stress at the moment and am trying to deal with my hubby's passing 5 months ago.I went private for an ENTappointment which was inconclusive. He did a couple of tests and advised me to get a hearing check so I have one booked next week.Obviously my husbands passing has ramped up my emotions but I feel I'm spiraling a bit .Sleep is awful.I do go out most days but this tinnitus and unbalanced feeling is very hard to cope with.

Ethel, good morning. Have they checked for Labyrinthitis and Menier's Desease?

Your symptoms fit either of those.

I have brain fog as well as a pretty good volume of a hissing sound tinnitus in my right ear. And I know that when ever I get a slight cold or ear infection, I lose my balance and get pretty dizzy. It's an inner ear thing at that point. I have to walk steadying myself along the wall a lot of times. But this only started after my first big Covid infection. And then two more variants down the road have pretty much left me in a permanent state of slightly wobbly.

Sorry to hear that, pardon the pun.Its not nice is it .My hissing is loud and constant which I have coped with for years but the muzzy head and unbalanced feeling is hard to cope with.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It must be harder to cope with the T

I’ve had two episodes of feeling lightheaded, dizzy and unwell with T. Bit concerning really, however, I hear a few others have experienced it too. Could be due to the inner ear in- balance.

Praying we all can live it with well 🙏

Blessings to you 🙏

I found private healthcare useless in dealing with the same symptoms you are having. Get referred to an NHS audiologist. I have inner ear damage caused by Covid and an extended ear infection. This brought on a slight hearing loss and tinnitus. My NHS consultant prescribed a hearing aid that has significantly reduced the tinnitus. I am also having physio to help deal with the dizziness. Good luck to you!

Hello, I went through a spell of feeling unsteady and slightly dizzy. Not nice at all, it was down to my blood pressure pills, I got them changed and that sorted it. But it never helped with my very severe tinnitus sadly.

May I ask what pills. Its funny you should say that because my losarton was increased to 100mg instead of 50 and I think that's when all this started but as I'm very stressedvwith losing my hubby I didn't think about the bp pills.

I was on Felodipine for over a year, then I needed the dose increasing, it was the increase that caused the problem. I went from 2.5mg to 5mg. I’m now on Losartan 50mg. If you’ve recently changed your BP dosage there’s a good chance that’s causing your wooziness.

I also take 5mg lercanidipine which is a CCB.

It might be worth asking your Dr if you could change your BP meds and see if that helps. When I saw my Dr and complained about feeling woozy and dizzy the idiot said, that's the BP meds working! I had to make out an e-consultation detailing the issue and a pharmacist then changed my pills.

Yes and felling like travel sickness until I vomited and had to lay flat. I was diagnosed with Labyrinthitis and then it was suggested that it was vestibular migraines. I hope you feel better soon

I was prescribed Zolmitriptan as gp.thought it could be vestibular migraine too.Im a bit worried to take them as my bp is a bit high even on meds and the leaflet says not to take with high bp.As I live alone it's a bit worrying for me.
