hello. My T always returns to normal though in the midst of a spike you think it’s permanent which causes stress and worry. Try not to go looking for it. You will still have good days and bad. When I got cancer some years back I never noticed my T as much as the Cancer terrified me and put me is survival mode.
Hi I also have hyperacusis & tinnitus & have experienced spikes that have gone on for weeks in the past. It always seems to settle down to baseline level eventually just ride it out best you can.
Kimmiee, we all experience tinnitus in different ways. If you’re upset or anxious, the tinnitus really loves it! It’s very likely that you will habituate to the sounds, so they are less intrusive.
If I think about it, I can hear the tinnitus when I’m driving on a busy motorway at sixty - so it’s loud! It most of the time I really don’t notice it. Have you seen your doctor? In the UK, doctors have a pathway they are recommended to follow when their patients come along with tinnitus.
Your best resource is to go to the website of Tinnitus UK. You can phone them or have a web chat Monday to Friday 9 to 5.
i think i have just got myself into a massive stress response thats amped my tinnitus and hypercusis up wayyy to high, so im hearing all new sounds etc...i saw my doctor and i see my audologist on the 27th...i hear mine through everything atm, all 8 sounds of them...i used to only have a ring and static but this weeks just made me get sick with worry and stress im feeding into it get higher and changing tones....hopefully if i can de stress and relax i should go back down to my baseline on tinnitus ...since this is apprently a spike, ive had T for 8 years and never really had a spike and ive perforated my ear drum etc and was nothing like this ...thanks for the advice rosie
I can here mine above the car engine too Kimmiee. Mine is sound reactive so the louder the environment, the louder the T, it calms down when it’s quieter. I’ve got a bout now that doesn’t want to calm down at all. 🤦🏼♀️
Thanks for your reply. If you don't mind me asking, why did you have to have it? I ask because that might be the cause of your spike and not the injections.
my spike happened days before iu had the injections...i think my spike happened from a major/sever stress response and im struggling to get out of it since my ears are so loud now and distorted
