TENS machine for tinnitus?
If there were such a thing, we would be shouting it from the rooftops on this site! Some people find that some things works a little for them. You can browse through posts here but even better go to the website of the British Tinnitus Association for hints and tips.
You’ll see ads for “cures”. Don’t believe them!
Hi Sheffred. I have tinnitus (T) and a TENS machine. TENS doesn't affect my T good or bad, but it works wonders on painful neck and shoulder muscles, when they begin to spasm. For somatosensory T, there is an 'auricle' stimulation device being developed by Dr. Susan Shore in the USA. More info about her work can be found on the University of Michigan site at

It's a case of 'watch this space' to see how the device, when it's properly trialled, pans out.
Here's a bit more info about how it theoretically works from a Dr. Ben Thompson's site on Youtube

Personally, I'm not aware of any other TENS-type machine that's designed to affect T, but I'm no definitive guide to what might be 'out there'.
I hope this is helpful for you.
Hi Sheffred the only thing that helps my T at night is white noise but that's only temporary
Best wishes with it, hope it works for you.I went down the rabbit hole of ‘cures’, devices, ‘experts’ selling programs etc when I was despairing about my T, but as time has passed I’ve come to the realisation that the only way for me is to habituate to it. That’s NOT to say sound therapy etc doesn’t work, it can help, but I think habituation is the long term answer to T.
A cure would be great for all, but it doesn’t look imminent. Best of luck, things will improve.
