I know we are all different but I was just wondering if the general view is that Puretone audiometry, tympanometry and otoaccoustic testing is OK to go ahead with when you have tinnitus. I appreciate things needs to be measured but am a bit fearful of anything in my ears that will create a reaction. Thanks

I had a tymp. No difference to T
Hi Harrier58 I had the standard pre ENT hearing test. It was uncomfortable but didn't affect my T long term. It was very hot in the sound proof room too.
When I started having hearing troubles, I also feared the same thing. I checked opportunities a lot and decided to go for a hearing test near me hearingpro.com.au/brighton/. It is important to find a professional; I even suggest going to a private clinic rather than a public hospital; it will be less stressful and quicker. I feared the test would cause some reaction, but it didn’t. The process wasn’t even unpleasant. It occurred I needed a hearing aid, which was not surprising because both of my parents went deaf when I retired. So I assume this is an inherited problem; though the device helps greatly, and I live a normal life again
