I have had Pulse Tinnitus for about 2 years now. I have had a few basic tests conducted, doppler and Stethoscope on the neck, but nothing to confirm a diagnosis. I seem to recall a thread on this site of a specialist in UK for this condition. Can anyone advise?

Well, I have had the same in my right ear namely PULSE TINNITUS this one can hear you own HEART BEAT here in Russia we have very good doctors and an E N T SPECIALIST saw what I had and she as a majority of Russian doctors are mostly women they are the best in my opinion as my Russian wife takes me there to see this doctor and she told in all honesty that the operation I had on my right ear was a very good operation as I had back in 1976 and 1977 two ear operations to remove an infected right a bone in the middle ear called the Anatomical terms of bone

The malleus or hammer is a hammer-shaped small bone or ossicle of the middle ear which connects with the incus and is attached to the inner surface of the eardrum. The word is Latin for hammer or mallet. It transmits the sound vibrations from the eardrum to the incus. this was caused because I had a children's VIRUS CALLED "RUBELLA " Rubella, also known as German measles or three-day measles, is an infection caused by the rubella virus. This disease is often mild with half of people not realizing that they are infected. A rash may start around two weeks after exposure and last for three days. I was told by a doctor that this was the cause of my right ear infection and realized it was NOT MY FAULT .

There you have it in a nutshell we all each and everyone on this Forum a different story to tell and I kike this forum and it gives me some little hope that I am not the only person in this sad world to have a problem and my theory is " THAT THERE IS ANOTHER PERSON IN THIS SAD WORLD FAR OFF WORSE THAT YOURSELF " and how true this is just think about for a minute and tell yourself it is absolutely true and I know here in Russia to see a lot Russian people what they suffer and it makes my upset to see such warm and friendly people in a Westerners eyes that you are never alone I like it here as it very peaceful in a small village outside the main town centre < not the AMERICAN term and my lovely Russian wife looks after me very well and she protects me for her loyalty and been living fir the last 18 years and these people like the BRITISH PEOPLE and I can tell you in all honesty I am treated like royalty and to me this feels good and very safe NO POLLUTION HERE we live on top of a pine forest and we can pick when in season WILD BLUEBERRIES WILD STRAWBERRIES WILD Raspberries and my wife grows her own cucumbers tomatoes and raspberries blackcurrants.

That is all I live a very healthy life and eat plenty river fish , squid frozen and frozen prawns and so on and so forth as a Westerner it is very cheap to live here and the shops are always full of produce and I watch and observe these people and believe me it is a real eye opener too what Russian people spend and their spending is amazing to see not one of em are poor and I get my UK STATE PENSION PLUS MY BANK OF ENGLAND PENSION once a month in my VTB BANK ACCOUNT IN RUSSIAN RUBLES and this for me by Russian standards is very good example STATE PENSION = 43.000.00 RUBLES PER MONTH IN pounds sterling depending on the exchange rate of the pound and Ruble = in pounds sterling = 544.30 Bank of England pension = 23,000.00 per month in pounds sterling = 291,13 you try and live on that in the UK it will be impossible .

I want to apologize for rattling on about my life in Russia but I can on my dear late wife`s untimely death she had diabetes and only 50 y/o but like everything life LIFE GOES ON and that is why I met my Russian wife on a dating site called friend finder the rest is history I have 2 grown up children my Son and my Daughter both have Son 2 beautiful Daughters Millie and Ellie and my Daughter has 2 small boys and I miss them terribly and I am naturally the 4 children a Grandfather never ever met them and I will one day whenever visit them and why not indeed .

THE END

Take care now .

Alistair and do look after you health as Life is too short and do not worry about your TINNITUS God bless you all ~

Hello RobertCLL fortunately my Pulsatile tinnitus has seemed to disappear without diagnosis or treatment. My Ent consultant in the Midlands was fairly disinterested but was useful in organising several tests to rule out some nasties at least. I seem to recall that people recommend Addenbrookes hospital Cambridge and Mr Axon in particular. All good wishes.

Mr Axon at Addenbrookes is the specialist to go to. Depending on the cause he will refer you to Dr Higgins, a neuro-interventional radiologist who can perform cerebral angiogram or lumbar puncture as well as other less invasive tests. If it is diagnosed as a dural arteriovenous fistula Dr H will perform the embolisation. Get your GP to make the referral to Mr Axon.
