Is tinnitus worse when you have a bad cold. ? Does it prevent habitation?

Worse with a bad cold

Nothing prevents habituation. It will come in time. It came to me and I've had worse than a bad cold to deal with on top of tinnitus...

I agree with Ray's advice - a cold is usually temporary and we recover from it. It shouldn't prevent or delay habituation.
Part of habituation is changing the way that we think about tinnitus and having more energy to live our life and do what we want to do should help us to achieve that.
As Ray and Pat have both said. Habituation is something that happens regardless.
I paraphrase the John Lennon quote with: "Habituation is something that happens while we're making other plans."
Check out my latest video where I cover the three big things that create a good environment for Habituation; Sound and Motion, Mindfulness and Moving.
I hope it helps.
A cold will make things be/ seem louder but then things improve, we recover and we get on top of it again.
All the best,

I find a cold or sinusitus plays havoc with my tinnitus, to the extent I can only mask it with loud sounds therapy at times.
Thankyou..
