Hi all. Hoping for some help with a few questions to aid my research, hope that's okay.1/ Has anybody experienced any form of body pain before, during or after the onset of their T.

This includes hands, fingers, any limb, any joint, muscular or skeletal pain whatsoever.

2/ Have you experienced strange brain zaps like electric shocks through the head. If you have, did this coincide with the cessation of taking antidepressants or any other medication or have you had these zaps regardless of any medication whatsoever.

3/Have you ever had the symptoms of Eustachian Tube Dysfunction - ear fullness, popping and clicking etc. despite being assured by a health or ENT professional that you don't have ETD.

Weird questions I know but I've got some more for you soon. If you could include your age and sex, whether you have continuous tone T, pulsatile T and whether you have unilateral or bilateral T.

More weird question to come. Hope that's okay.

Thanking you in advance.

Love and silence to all.

hi untold

I believe we have messaged separately on this but here’s my answers

1 - no real lean as such but I do have aches and pains in neck, back but these are not excessive and I think are the result of bad posture

2 - Yes I get brain zaps most days these are when I go to bed and relaxing and transitioning from wake to sleep. I have never been in anti-depression medication and I am sure these are related to the tinnitus

3 - I have symptoms of ETD in terms of my ears crackling every time I swallow and yawn I suspected ETD but doctor and ENT specialist have examined and said there is nothing wrong

My tinnitus is bilateral and a continuous buzzing and cricket sound with intermittent clicking on one ear

I am female and 47 years old and had tinnitus for just over 3 years. If your research or appointments reveal any answers to this nightmare I would love to know

Good luck xx

Hi L, so would you say your main tinnitus, the one you have (most often/all the time) is a continuous, constant sound?Cheers.

Hi and sorry this will not be used.

My T was caused by a nasty cold/virus whatever in 2015. Back then the ENT consultant said that the virus most likely arrived in my head via the Eustachian Tube.

He thought there is messed and damaged the auditory cortex and at the same time taking my sense of smell and taste. I guess similar to Covid years later.

I’m not medical so can only report what they told me at the time as a best guess.

Be well

Hi everyone

I have quite a lot of neck pain but this has been going on for many years. Mine is due to bad posture but I don't think connected to tinnitus.

I have bilateral tinnitus and my left ear does feel blocked and sometimes I get popping sounds too.

I am going to the dentist to see if I need a mouth guard as I do grind my teeth. However my tinnitus came after an ear infection.

Hope your research goes well.

Hi

I believe my T started after a very severe Covid infection in 2020

I have been told I have ETD and surgery would not ensure this would help my T.

I have a painful ear but no aches and pains. My neck has always caused me problems long g before T.

No sharp head pain.

My T has subsided . Its always there mornings are the worst it wakes me.

It been a long hard journey, unless you have T , no one will understand. Dr , hospitals, ent have no answers. Been waiting revisit ENT for over a year classed as not urgent.

On the upside T is here as typing this message once i get up once moving around it goes into the background of my day.

Hearing aids helped although only a small hearing loss.

Hope this helps I never thought this day would come.
