Stress and Anxiety can definitely make Tinnitus (appear) worse - I counteract this by getting engrossed in something - are you able to go for a run or go to the gym? Alternatively music is good - I listen to anything from Handel to Heavy Metal- whatever works for you. Or try a mindfulness course?

Tinnitus feeds on stress and anxiety. One of the key planks of tinnitus management is learning how to effectively relax yourself and therefore reduce stress and anxiety. I'm nearly 3 years in and I haven't figured out how to do this as yet.

Yoga, meditation, exercise, a new hobby, gardening, even just a walk in the woods can all help.

Absolutely! Stress and anxiety usually make everything worse and they definitely worsen tinnitus and/or your perception of tinnitus. In order to lessen your tinnitus you will need to manage and decrease your anxiety.

I noticed you have some other replies that give you suggestions how to accomplish this.

I am generally a very anxious person but I have managed to get my tinnitus from a place where I thought I would go insane to a level where I go hours and even days without noticing my tinnitus.

I’m sure you can too.

Cheers

Richard
