Hey everyone. I went to the doctors 7 days ago after I noticed a slight ringing in my ear hoping it wasn’t tinitus. The doctor said it was a big build up of wax and to go get my ears syringed. I used the olive oil 3 times a day for a week and had them syringed this morning. And no it seems to be worse? Does anyone have any ideas/advice? Thanks

Your GP should have advised you never get your ears syringed to remove ear wax it can greatly affect your tinnitus I get mine micro suctioned privately you can get it on the NHS but not all nhs trusts offer it hope that helps also I use sodium bicarbonate ear drops to remove my wax and to regularly to use ear drops to keep your wax at bay wax build up will make your tinnitus louder .

Thanks for the reply David! I did go back to the doctors yesterday as the tinnitus didn’t ease off and he’s now saying that it may be caused by an ear infection as all of the inside of my ear is now red. He’s given me drops to hopefully sort it out. I don’t think they know what they’re on about to be honest :/
