If you definitely have labyrinthitis or it’s best friend, benign positional vertigo, then yes it will go away ... just be patient. What treatment?

Thank you that gives me hope:) and it's antibiotics, the nausea is gone but i still feel dizzy and with ringing ears, the doctor said that if i felt the same in a week he'll give me an injection

I’ve not heard of antibiotics for this (mind you the last time I had it was about ten years ago) and it took a good couple of weeks to die down. I was prescribed anti sickness pills. I’m told that drinking plenty of water helps.

I'll definitly drink more water haha, did you felt really dizzy too? And like your head was buzzing?I think the antibiotics were for my throat, i had an infection the doctor said that's what caused the labyrinthitis

So dizzy I couldn’t even look at a computer screen. I went for walks to places I know well, to get the exercise, but had to walk slowly and not turn my head! No driving. No glasses of wine! The tinnitus was no better and no worse though.

Yes the pills work quite rapidly

NICE Guidelines say betahistamine should not be offered where there is tinnitus. This is a tinnitus forum.

Yes I had this last year. Severe Tinnitus, nausea, dizzy spells. It was very debilitating. I spent Christmas in bed. My Doctor couldn't help, said it would go away by itself! Prescribed motion sickness tablets. I would advise you to get plenty of sleep and rest, eat healthy, drink plenty of water, exercise. Boost up your immune system as much as possible. It did get better with time. I found breathing exercises particularly helped me, there are videos on YouTube, and an excellent book by James Nestor called Breathe. Mine has gone now, but I still get the odd flare up now and then. I hope this is helpful. You are not alone, it is very common . There are also local support groups. Take care.

Thank you so much! It is awful. I've been in bed for like a week now, yestarday was probably the worst day but this has helped a lot. I will check out that book!

I do sympathise. It's such a horrible sensation. I had never been so ill in my life. Also, I forgot to mention that I also had a session at the Dizziness Centre in Essex. It is a private clinic, but one session was enough for me. I am not sure if you have something similar local to where you live. They gave me some simple exercises to do to overcome the dizzy spells, caused when the eyes, ears and muscles in your body are not working in sync. vestibular-rehab-essex.co.uk/ (I hope it is okay to share) There is some info about it on the website. It is such a common condition, I am really surprised that there is not a lot more information available, there is some stuff on Google.

Thanks! I'll look for something similar where i live. And i am also surprised that there's not a lot of information about this. I was going crazy because i didn't know of anyone that had this.

The exercises are published on website of Brain and spine Foundation.

Hi , just wondered if this ever passed for you , currently having Vertigo and tinnitus for 3.5 weeks and it's not getting much better. Wondered how long it took for yours to pass.

Hey there, the tinnitus didn't go away for me:( but i really don't notice it anymore. However, i found out the real cause for my tinnitus is a TMJ disorder, so you might want to check that out:)
