Pulsating Tinnitus

Hello, I seem to be suffering from pulsating tinnitus and the sound is in time with my pulse taken from my wrist. I have had a headache for about three days, I feel very tired, and a little dizzy, which I put down to other medication. In Feb 2018 I suffered with a DVT/PE following knee surgery. The blood clot in my lung was found after having a CTA scan. So I take blood thinning treatment for this. I am also on a high dose of anti-depressants. I have been taking these since Nov 2015 so I am well use to these tablets. My concern is the history of blood clot and treatment and not this sound in my ear. If anyone can give me some advice I would appreciate it. I have called my doctor and explained to the receptionist, but I can't get an appointment until next week.

Yay Laptop2437, I don't know what country you're in but I had PE's on both lungs and I was put on Apixaban. The first few tabs made me feel so dizzy I thought I was going to pass out! I also experienced compression headaches for a short while. I must say I was shocked with the NHS as one moment I was told I had a possible life threatening condition then given Apixaban and told by Consultant "I won't need to see you again" No follow ups no nothing apart from 6 monthly blood tests!

In the NHS it's not what you know it's who you know? I have since been followed up at the respiratory clinic and had an echocardiogram (still waiting for results) after intervention of my neurologist! I'm now on Apixaban for life and although it doesn't affect my T, I wonder if there will be any possible long term side effects apart from possibly having a bleed?

Best Wishes

Xene

When I had a DVT/PE IN 2011 I I had warfarin for 6 months. That was a pain as couldn’t get the levels right and I had to go to the clinic every 3 days. I’m in the West Midlands Uk. So I know what the NHS are like. I’ve been on this treatment since Feb this year. But my headaches are killing me and the noise in my ear driving me crazy.

Well hopefully you should be coming off them in the next couple of months depending on your overall health? Yep T will take you to hell and back and then some but it's still doable even if you don't 'habituate' it, just one big learning curve!
