Sounds above 84db can harm your ears and need protecting and also a noisy workplace above the Health and Safty guidelines of 84 db.

Since my tinnitus started I've urged friends and family to protect their ears yet despite that I'm amazed when they tell me they've been to brass band concerts and other festivals etc and not worn plugs. I keep saying you really don't want to end up like me but people think it will never happen to them. It really highlights the lack of understanding of how distressing and life changing this condition can be.
