Advise your younger family members to get ear plugs ...

Hi everyone, it is vital that we urge the young people in our families to protect their ears at all the noisy Christmas events. My daughter has bought ear plugs which she can put on her key ring so she will always have them with her. She told me that she walked out of a cocktail bar within minutes last week as the music was so very very loud. That's my girl! Love Angela xx

well said, i would much rather see the youngsters wearing ear plugs then the ear buds which seem to be in stuck in there ears every waking hour attached to there dreaded Iphones. sorry i must be getting old

Totally agree Dave. I nag my nephew and nieces about those ear buds - I seem to be nagging all the time since I got T! Ear buds should be worn for no more than one hour a day at 60pc volume. Thankfully my son does as he's told - if only in that respect! Happy Christmas to you and yours. Love Angela xx

My daughter also plays bass in a band. When she saw what I went through in the early says, she decided to make sure she wore earplugs!

If you buy proper musician ear plugs you'll still be able to hear all frequencies. The problem with normal bung type earplugs is that they make everything around sound muffled which spolis the experience of listening to music.

I use ACS ER20's. They are only about £10 from Amazon. I think you can get similar from the BTA on-line store too.

Bear in mind that if you use earplugs when it's quiet, you may notice your T more as any background noise is reduced and there is less to mask the T.

I'd also recommened earplugs to motorcyclists. The wind noise inside a crash helmet can easily reach dangerous levels although good quality helmets are better these days.

Yes, look after your ears everyone BUT make sure you carry on doing the things you enjoy!
