Physiotherapy helping T

Hi not been on here for a while but wanted to give you an update on my T.After an ear infection, or what I thought was an infection, rendered me deaf for 3 weeks in my right ear, I saw my GP, went to A&E and saw 2 specialists. Whilst some antibiotics gave temporary relief, nothing resolved the deafness.

Thinking the issue was an impacted tooth, I saw my dentist who did an orthopanograph. No my teeth were fine.

She then stuck her finger in my mouth and wedged it up next to my top right teeth and pushed upwards. I nearly leapt out of the chair! The pain was excruciating. The main muscle in my jaw was rock solid.

She referred me to a specialist physio who deals with jaw conditions. I've had to learn to eat differently and do a series of exercises 3 x per day.

The change has been extraordinary. I can fly - I was told by 2 doctors not to as I risked piercing my ear drum - and the T has reduced significantly.

I also flew in August - I was terrified but I had no issues.

I would suggest seeing a dentist then finding a specialist physio who deals with jaw disorders. The relief in finding a resolution after all this time, is indescribable.

Good luck x

Gosh! That's excellent 😀 What a great result. I've had tinnitus since 2016 and since then I've had TMJ. Dentist gave me exercises to do with my jaw for that, but no-one mentioned a connection with my tinnitus. I will google it.

happy to hear your news! Your story is very similar to mine - dentist did exactly the same to me. I believe my T in my right ear is being caused by tight muscles or tendon, caused by teeth grinding/clenching at night. How is your T now? Mine went from screamingly loud to now a buzz/fizz which still spikes now and again but never to the initial loud ringing. I’ve had it for 5 months now.
