while out on a regular five mile hill walk two weeks ago high up on the Quantocks, with the weather windy and cold then warmer and still, my hat was on and off every ten mins. By the time I reached the car I noticed that one of the aids was no longer there. It’s wasnt in the scarf, down my top or in my hair, I checked the hearing aid location and retraced my steps through the pouring freezing rain but I had tramped through the gorse and heather and it was impossible to find. So I gave up, worried sick that I would have to fork out for another hearing aid. Fortunately I had foresight to add cover for items over a certain value ‘away from home’ which meant they were covered without being itemised and I was reimbursed within 4 days. So please everyone if you haven’t already done so, get your hearing aids insured or check that you have away from home cover !

Thank you so much for the good advice. I am pleased that you managed to get reimbursed for the loss of your hearing aid. Best wishes.
Hi.
I did the same (again) last week, took a woolly hat off and realized later I'd pulled my hearing aid out. Luckily it was stuck in the hat (again)
My hearing aid is a basic NHS and would cost me I think £65.00 to replace.
Whilst my hearing loss is quite slight the hearing aid has have helped significantly with my T so I've been wondering if a more advanced model would have benefits but that's a different thread 😁
Regards

Hi yes, put mine on house insurance. I wouldn't want to have to replace them!
