well, the idea is that after 4 weeks you report back to dr skinner and he will tell you what he thinks/what to do next. If you experience any 'bad' side effect you can call him and leave a message with secretary to speak asap, but just 'still feeling symptomatic' might mean that you have to 'stick it out' for the month and then review with him if to increase, it is important to wait for the 4 weeks as increases in medication containing T4 like armour can take that long to fully settle in your body.

Is Dr. Skinner giving you your first prescription for hypothyroidism? Armour is far superior in my opinion. Must you keep taking levo? Why not try two grains of Armour? Possibly he is trying to appease the NHS since they resist giving Armour and prefer thyroxine.

I was on levo for six years and feel I have muscle damages from it. Not everyone does. Armour has been an improvement and more like what your body produces.

Maybe you just need to get to the right dose. Half grain of Armour is only 30 mg. Obviously he feels you need some T3 and so added Armour, I assume. If so, you should move to ALL Armour if that has been a problem.

I feel you should be much better after a few months of medication. The thing is, once you are diagnosed, you should keep moving up your dose until your body has done its adjusting. Stopping too soon seems to bring on the problems. Maybe your adrenals did have something to do with that as they have to work together. Do you recall how your increases were made?

But, another problem is the withdrawal coming off the antidepressants. The longer you were on them, the more difficult. You might look into that as part of your problems at the moment. But I think all of your problems can be overcome.

I am doing okay on Armour, I can play golf although I have low back muscle issues which tire easily and some osteoporosis as well. I hope you are getting proper testing as that is key.

thanks heloise.

i was increasing the levo 25mgc every monthn as i was coming off the antidepressants. i am ordering a 24 cortisol saliva test to see if my adrenal are in good condition althought dr skinner does not think so. i am funcionting as long as i dont do too much. i went to the supermarket today and i was so cold in the freezing section that i only could thinkg i want to go back hom i dont want to be here. it is not nice.

i am please to hear good comments about armour. i will give i a try but i am getting meds tomorrow and i am nt sure when to start just in case it gives me side effects. did you have side effects.?

you are totally right with the antidepressants but the truth is that with them i was fantastic my symthomhs improved. how is that posible? i am trying no to get back to them.

will see ..

Maybe your increases weren't quite quickly enough. Two weeks would probably have been more efficient until you got to the required dose.

I'm sure there is a place for antidepressants in the short term but they will eventually change brain chemistry so not good in the long term.

I don't think there are side effects to Armour since it is a natural product unless the fillers cause you a problem. Of course, if you overdose, you will know it by chest pressure and breathless feeling but really you should just feel better. It takes time for the changes to take place. I also like Erfa if you find that is easier or cheaper to get, it is also natural.

Ha, we all freeze in the cold section of the supermarket. They are more worried about the food than the patrons.
