My question is when will I see my T4 start to rise again to normal values.

Hi , I came off Carbimazol first week of March after My T3, T4, TSH are normal.

My T4 was on the low side 10 (12-22 is the range . It is been the the same when I tested yesterday.

Hi why did you come off carbimazole? How long were you on it for and at what dose?

Do you know what your original blood tests were prior to treatment?

My T4 is often around 11 too but I am told it needs to be nearer the top end of the scale.

Thank you greenginger , I was on carbimazol 20 mg/d for 8 weeks ,following 2 weeks reduced

to 10mg/d , followed by approx. 10 days of 5 mg/d then I stopped as my T4 was dropping

below accepted levels and my T3 and TSH is normalizing . I don't know weather tis is a

temp state or not I shell see . Hope for the best.

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidsm in Dec 2012 and started carbimazole in Jan 2013.

Lab Range

FT4->9.0 to 25

TSH->0.4 to 4.75

Jan

FT4->60

TSH-><0.01

Carbimazole->25mg

Feb

FT4->27

TSH-><0.01

Carbimazole->30mg(GP increased by 5mg said it was still high)

Apr

FT4->14

TSH-><0.01

Carbimazole->25mg

May

FT4->9.8

TSH->1.22

Carbimazole->20mg(I took 20mg as told by GP for 2 weeks before reducing to 10mg for last 2 weeks as FT4 near low range)

June

FT4->8.9

TSH->17.5

GP propose reduce dosage to 5mg however i am already at hypo state so propose to stop medication. Do blood test every 2 weeks to monitor.
