Hi I'm on 225mg thyroxine & Vit b12 & I feel so... - Thyroid UK
Hi I'm on 225mg thyroxine & Vit b12 & I feel so low and tired all the time it's affecting my work & home life I'm so fed up with it all can
Have you got any blood test results that you can post for people on here to look at.
Are you keeping the taking of your suppliments well away from when you take your thyroid medication? When do you take your thyroid meds?
Have you had any other vitamins tested like VitD or iron which could be causing your tiredness.
A little bit more info will be useful as its obvious by your questions that you are feeling quite ill.

Doctor said blood test is normal whatever that is, I take meds in morning with all of them as was told to do so, been tested for others but doctor said got low white blood cell count but should get better by itself
Do you mean that you take your thyroid meds at the same time as your suppliments? You need to maybe change your timings.
Have you ever tried taking your thyroid meds of a night? Thyroid meds need to be taken on an empty stomach so that they can be absorbed properly with nothing interfering. They need to be taken, at least, two hours after eating and with only water (not even milk as this contain calcium).
Taking your thyroid meds of a night means that they can be absorbed into your system better and many on here report a good outcome when changing to night time dosing, although you may get a headache for the first few days.
You also need to start getting copies of ALL your blood results (both past and present) so that you can post on here for advise. What the GP says is "normal" often is not normal for you, so can you phone the receptionist and ask for copies. Dont let them say you can't have them as it is your legal right under the Freedom of Information Act that you can.
I know it may seem daunting at first but, as you have found to your cost, leaving your health in the hand of your GP is just not working. You need to start taking control yourself and the first step is to post your latest blood results on here for people to comment and advise.
If you have had your B12, VitD or Iron tested please post those results as well as being low in any of these will have an impact on how your body reacts to your thryoid meds.
Please let us know how you get on.

Thank you I'm going back to doctors today as really not feeling good but also just so fed up with being ill all the time
When you go back ask the GP a very simple question "do you think I have an absorbtion issue and can you do tests to see if I am", which means is my levo being absorbed into the body correctly and could you test my T3 and T4.
A T3 test will show if your body is converting your levo into the hormone T3 which is what your body really needs to function and the T4 test will show exactly what the levo is doing.
Please let me know how you get on wont you.
If you use the "reply to this" button in blue under a persons name they will get an email to say you have responded to their reply - it stops people missing further replies or questions.
Good Luck

Thank you very much for this info as I really don't seem to be getting anywhere & just so down all I want to do is cry & it's so not fair on my son or my partner even though they are very supportive I just want to be well again I'm falling asleep during the day & I ache like mad when I wake up most of the time now I feel like I've been hit by a truck
Dont worry, people on here will help you to recover with good advice and an ear to listen to you when you are feeling down (as you are now).
Most people (myself included) find this site when there health has hit rock bottom but, sometimes within weeks, you will be see by the questions they are asking that they are making very good progress and usually feeling loads better. There's nothing that lifts your spirits more than have people to talk to who are in the same boat, and know exactly where you are coming from.
The more you are on this site the more information you will take in (even with brain fog) and the more your GP wont be able to get away with his bad management of your thyroid condition as you will have the knowledge to question his decisions and ask intellegent questions when you feel that something is wrong or not being done correctly.
You have made a massive step in the right direction by finding this support group and things can only go one way from now on and thats UP.

Hi Make sure you had TSH , T4 and Free T3 test, if T3 low in range you almost definitely need treatment with T3 in addition to T4. Also the Vit D ( hormonal) often effects the thyroid and of course, the other things. D does change, so if no recent test ,worth having another one.
Best wishes,
Jackie
Hi It is difficult without ranges, ask the receptionist/secretary for them.Looking at them the white count may be high but it often is, not very high,. Thee is often infection in the body and that is fighting it so may be not significant for you. The T4 is high but probably in range, That bears out that you may not be converting the T4 to FT3 in the body, very common. You need a FT3 test to tell and if not near the top of range, maybe less T4 but certainly some T3 on a script. GP should do that , but if your TSH very low in range ( I think it probably is not) then it may need an endo to prescribe, or you could try persuading GP to give you a 3 month trial of T3 but essential to have test first. If GP will not test FT3 then ask him if he will arrange it through his Lab for a small charge, cheapest way about £10. If not there are other ways but a little more expensive.
Have you had vit D, glucose, B12 and Folic acid, tested, all hormonal and some autoimmune and related to thyroid disease.
I hope this helps. Ask for the ranges, for those tests, so you know what to say to the GP>
