Ive just left a message for dr peatfield, hopefully i will be able to get help from him, i have a appointment in may to see my endo im going to give them another chance to help me.

What could it mean if my ft4 is at lower range but in range @ 11.0, and my ft3 is in higher part of range at 5.0 and my tsh is 1.73?

Im taking my results to my endo in may and ive also wrote down all my symptoms this time so she can see it, the problem is im not sure if these results show anything up, i feel like i go between hypo or hyper, ive also been told my ft4 is low by many on here and another forum, but if my ft3 is of higher but in range wont that make up for the low ft4?

sorry if im keeping on im just trying to learn how it should be!

thanks for any replys i will get.

nichola.....x

Are you on any medication? This is the type of result you would see if you were on a high dose of T3 eg 20ug.

I see you have a thyroid nodule. If you are not on medication then it looks as though the nodule is producing T3 causing the high T3 and low T4.

Would be helpful if you gave the ranges.

It is possible to feel you have both hypo and hyper symptoms at the same time.

This is because when the body becomes short of thyroid hormone and there's not enough to go round for all functions, it shuts down certain hormone receptors of the functions it considers to be less important. Depending on how long you have been hypo, these receptors can take a certain length of time to reopen, thus giving you hypo symptoms. However the receptors that are already open are absorbing the extra hormone you are giving your body and going slightly hyper. This does not mean that you are hyper per se. And a reduction of meds is not indicated.

Hope this helps, Grey
