So i have now come to realise when my ft4 is over range i suffer mentally its horrible..
Even though my ft3 does not go over range at the same time which yes suggests that yeah i may not be converting very well...
I see my endo in october and will discuss maybe taking t3 aswell as levo but for now id like u lovely people to advice me in what dosage to take at the moment.. as when im on 100mcg of levo my ft4 goes over range and i feel it mentally like im goin crazy its horrible but then when im on 75mcg of levo i go under and feel low...
Should i alternate and take 75 one day and 100 the next would that even things out for the time being while i see my endo??
Please dont ask me to post results as i know everyone will say u need some t3 but i already know this.. im just trying to get on with levo at the moment while i see my endo... thank you in advance 😊

To be honest i would swap your feeling lethargic for my feeling im going crazy any day!! Its absolutely horrible, i get theses like crazy zaps to my brain amd go into like a horrible psyco mood that i cant snap out of for at least an hour its so strange! ...
Are your vitamin levels good ? As slowDragon pointed out these need to be optimal. I'm working on mine to hopefully help with conversion. I have considered T3 but I'm just waiting to see how things progress. The only odd thing that happens to me is almost detached, spaced out feelings but I'm thinking once my B12 improves that will go. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.
Yes if u look below i put an answer to slow dragon my vitamins are all great!..
And finally i have found someone who feels the same!! detached and strange spacy is exactly how iv been feeling when my ft4 is over range.. but i cant win becaude when i below my moods are shocking...
I suppose adding a bit of T3 with a Small reduction in your Levo would be a good test.
If you do get a chance to go down that route it would be interesting to hear how you get on.
I was a nightmare when first put on the meds as it really affected me quite bad, think it was a shock to the system as I had no obvious symptoms with a TSH around 50. Slowly improved over 12 months to where I am now which is still not right but I'm living with it.
I was fine for 9 years on levo never had any problems then i was changed to teva branf of levo last october and suddenly started with panice attacks bad anxiety strange feelings.. i stopped levo altogether as it freaked me out i stopped for 3 weeks and tsh went over 100 but was feeling great then i started back on levo actavis brand and started having strange mood drops feeling really depressed one minute then happy as larry the next.. had every anxiety sympmtom know to man.. breathlessness also... then seem to be not.to bad on 75 but tsh was still at 10 so was increased to 100 and from there my ft4 went over range and now get strange detached feeling so i just cant win...
If my endo does actually prescribe me t3 i will let u know how i get on.. im also gonna see if there is another form of levo as i just dont think my brain tolerates it anymore...
I seem to get on ok with the Wokhardt brand, Treva gave me really bad migraines an hour or 2 after taking it and I also had hives on my wrists. I use Actavis 100 at the moment.
Do you also have high thyroid antibodies? You need to know. Did GP ever test these? If not ask that they are tested.
If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known as autoimmune thyroid disease). About 90% of hypothyroidism in UK is due to Hashimoto's.
Hashimoto's very often affects the gut, leading to low stomach acid, low vitamin levels and leaky gut.
Low vitamins that affect thyroid are vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12. Important to test these. If they are too low they stop Thyroid hormones working. Have these been tested, if not ask that they are. Always get actual results and ranges.
I notice you had very low B12 a while ago. Have you been supplementing this and a good vitamin B complex as well.
What about vitamin D, folate and ferritin
Always get actual results and ranges
If you have Hashimoto's then going strictly gluten free often helps significantly
Hi yes i do have high antibodies so yes i do have hashis.. my vitamins have been tested and are great at the minute my vitamin d is over 100.. my folate and ferritin since eating liver once a week has raised.. and since taking b12 my b12 levels have doubled!...
So now all that is left is to get my thyroid levels stable then hopefully will feel mentally stable ( i dont suffer physically)...
As your supplementing B12 are you also taking good vitamin B complex as well
When taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
Plus as you have Hashimoto's then hidden food intolerances may be causing issues, most common by far is gluten. Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms and eventually start to lower antibodies. Very very many of us here find it really helps and can slowly lower antibodies, improving symptoms
My antibodies are only 7 points above the range, so must have very early hashis...
Yes i know about the b complex i dont take anything before blood is taken and have it done early morning too.. just cant seem to get my levels stable anymore... they were actually stable for 9 years of being on levo ..
